Key concepts and terms
Plain-language definitions for products, formulations, claims, and readiness.
A few terms show up throughout Journey Foods. Here is what each one means in everyday language.
Product+
The finished item you plan to sell — for example, a protein bar or a plant-based drink. A product holds its ingredients, labels, claims, and scores in one place.
Formulation+
The recipe behind a product: the list of ingredients and how much of each you use. Change the formulation and your scores update automatically.
Claim+
A statement you want to put on packaging, like “high protein” or “no added sugar.” Journey Foods checks whether your formulation actually supports each claim.
Readiness+
How close a product is to being ready for market. It combines whether your ingredients, evidence, claims, and certifications are complete.
Evidence+
Documents that back up a claim or certification — like a lab result or supplier certificate. You upload these so claims can be approved.
